Cleveland, Denver, Jacksonville, and Seattle District Office Facts

The Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) has four District Offices, Cleveland, Denver, Jacksonville, and Seattle.  Each district office is charged with administrating EEOICPA claims for people living within its borders and DEEOIC reports statistics weekly on how these claims are being adjudicated.  EECAP collects these statistics from the DEEOIC website and reports on them monthly in map form.  .

While each District Office is charged with approval and denial of claims from the states within it's borders they are each guided by slightly different standards of accountability.  EECAP was curious to see whether these different standards made a difference in how claims were being approved and denied in the different district offices.  To try to determine this EECAP has analyzed DEEOIC's data and found there are differences.  This does not mean that the differences are caused by the different standards but the different payments rates of each district offices may been have contributed to or aggravated by the different district offices' standards.

EECAP used DOL's data and organized it by the regions covered by each District Office. Some of these numbers seem to be incorrect.  This may be due to DEEOIC adjusting their figures but since these are the only numbers available to track the district offices EECAP used any number that seemed plausible from DOL.

Currently EECAP only has District Office data from 2011-2014 but has filed a Freedom of Information Act Request with DEEOIC for years 2001-2011.
